    Raspberry Gin Smash

    April 30, 2020 / No Comments

I love a good Gin and Tonic, but sometimes I like to mix things up a little. This Raspberry Gin Smash is a nice refreshing summer drink you can enjoy on the patio. It was a busy day around here with yard work and cleaning up the house so this short little drink recipe is a nice way to end the day. Also, after cleaning the house all day, I don’t want to make a huge mess in the kitchen. How are you all fairing in this health crisis? I keep losing track of the days now that I am not working and taking kids to school each day. Anyone…

    Mango Margaritas

    April 27, 2020 / No Comments

Mango Margaritas are one of my favorite drinks to enjoy when I’m visiting Mexico. These ones are slushy, ice-cold, and sweetened with honey simple syrup. I prefer the slushy kind of Margarita as it feels like a delicious grown-up Slurpee and is very refreshing on a hot day. Since I’ve been posting quite a bit of Mexican food on the blog lately, I figured I had better add a refreshing cocktail to the menu. Especially since summer is around the corner. This is a perfect treat for the patio! Classic, easy to make and so good! I prefer a Blanco Tequila to make this drink with. I’ve made this pretty…

    Homemade Lemonade

    February 25, 2011 / No Comments

TGIF!  Friday’s are usually pretty casual eats around here, after a busy week it’s nice to just relax.  I made some lemonade for the boys for tonight…yes I know it’s not summer, but I had a bowl full of lemons on my counter, so I went with it.  I have included an adult variation on the bottom that I have yet to try, but am tempted to brave the cold and give it a shot.  – 1 cup sugar – 5 cups cold water – 1 1/4 cups fresh lemon juice (about 5-7 lemons) In a saucepan combine sugar and 1 cup of the water.  Bring to a boil, stirring until sugar…

    Homemade Herbal Iced Tea

    February 16, 2011 / No Comments

Yes, I know it’s not summer yet here, but there is a little restaurant here in Bonnyville, that makes this homemade iced tea, and it is so delish.  So we made our own little concotion tonight.  I love it!  Much better than the sugary drink crystals.  Homemade Herbal Iced Tea  – 4 Celestial Seasonings Lemon Zinger tea bags – 4 Celestial Seasonings Rasberry Zinger tea bags – 4 cups pure (NOT from concentrate) apple juice – lemon wedges for garnish (optional) Steep the 8 tea bags in 4 cups of boiling water for about 10 minutes.  Add apple juice, stir and chill until ready to serve.  Garnish with lemon wedges if you like.
