Warmed homemade garlic Naan bread with garlic butter, finely shredded lettuce, beef kofta, homemade tzatziki sauce, pickled turnips, and pomegranate seeds. This Beef Kofta on Naan is a delicious weeknight meal. Easily sub in store-bought Naan and tzatziki in a pinch, just warm the Naan and brush with some garlic butter before serving. You could also sub in ground lamb for the beef.
Pickled turnips are optional, but I love them! I made some last week and I’ve been waiting patiently for them to be ready so I could put this little idea I had together.
This makes about 18-20 meatballs shaped small-medium.
INGREDIENTS FOR KOFTA:
- 600 grams ground beef
- 1 onion chopped fine
- 1 1/2 Tbsp baharat
- 1 bunch parsley finely chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 serrano pepper, minced
Preheat your oven to 425F. Mix all the ingredients for the kofta together. Shape them into sort of oval flattish meatballs. Heat up some olive oil in a pan and brown the meatballs on both sides. Place the meatballs on a sheet pan lined with parchment paper and finish cooking them for a few more minutes in the oven until cooked through.
Serve them up hot on some warmed naan or pita drizzled with garlic butter. Garnish with shredded lettuce, tzatziki sauce, pickled turnips, and pomegranate seeds.
