Tabouleh Rice Wraps with Tahini Sauce

I wanted to make a wrap for lunch today that included my yummy tabouleh salad that I had made yesterday. Unfortunately I was out of wraps at the house. I decided I would use rice paper wraps and wrap up the tabouleh in that – I made a Tahini Dressing to accompany them using a recipe from my new Jeruselem cookbook. The turned out great – would be a great summertime light lunch or snack. I was wishing that I had some feta cheese to throw in with these, I think it would make a good addition – by all means throw some in if you have some – see…

    Signapore Noodles (Jamie Oliver)

This was a great quick supper and another great way to use up leftovers. If you have bits of meat leftover (Chicken, Pork, Steak) or even to use up veggies in your fridge – you could really throw in whatever your heart desires. I will give you the original recipe written by Jamie Oliver – but feel free to improvise – I did. You could also make this vegetarian if you prefer. I was able to use up leftover pork in ours – along with ground pork that I had on hand. I substituted cilantro for the green onions (because I had no green onions and had cilantro to use…

    Tabbouleh

I just purchased a cookbook I’ve been eyeing up for some time now – that has some pretty good reviews. It’s called Jerusalem by Yotam Ottolenghi and Sami Tamimi. I have been flipping through the book and stocking up on spices (since the book calls for quite a few) – I have to say in Bonnyville it’s difficult to find some of the required whole spices for some of the recipes…so I improvise. I will include the recipe for Baharat at the bottom, although I improvised making mine, due to the lack of whole spices on hand – I hear you can buy this spice mix as well – so…

Leftover Magic – Spiced Beef Morrocan Beef Tagine (Jamie Oliver)

OK Seriously I think I have found the answer to boring leftover roast beef leftovers! Jamie Oliver’s new cookbook rocks so far. This is the second recipe I have tried and it has impressed me even more than the first! Some serious flavour and a really easy dish with gorgeous presentation and taste – would be a great dish for company. If you know me, you know that I own way too many cookbooks. My Mom once told me that I should consider lending them out like a library – OK so everyone has collections don’t they? I actually really enjoy flipping through them for inspiration and ideas – and…

Hit ‘N’ Run Panbaked Chicken (Jamie Oliver)

I have decided to attempt to find time to update my blog! It’s been a long while since I posted and I still have friends saying they visit my blog on occasion for recipes and wish I would post some new material. I have to admit I still refer back as well when I don’t feel like digging through recipe books. 31 Hockey games this month! Yes that’s how many we counted between the 3 boys! It’s been pretty hectic around here trying to juggle work, hockey, housework, cooking, the never ending piles of laundry – yes it’s all been quite the whirlwind. I’m on the countdown until April when…
