Mango Margaritas

Mango Margaritas are one of my favorite drinks to enjoy when I'm visiting Mexico. Slushy, ice cold and sweetened with honey simple syrup.

Servings: 2 people
Course: beverage, cocktails

Ingredients
  

  • 3 ounces blanco tequila
  • 1 ounce triple sec
  • 2 ounces fresh lime juice
  • 2 cups mango, cubed roughly
  • 2 cups crushed ice
  • 2 ounces honey simple syrup
  • salt or sugar for the rim (with lime zest) optional
  • Lime wedges for garnish optional
Honey Simple Syrup
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup water

Method
 

  1. In a blender put your mango (defrost a little if frozen). Add in you tequila, lime juice and triple sec.
  2. Blend until smooth.
  3. Add in your ice.
  4. Blend until smooth
  5. Serve in Margarita glasses with rims salted or sugared if you like. Garnish with a lime.
Honey Simple Syrup
  1. Mix together equal parts honey and water. Heat over stove until combined. Cool down.
  2. Save the remaining simple syrup in a container in the fridge for future use.
