Best Breakfast Sammies

Ingredients
  

Sausage Patties
  • 1 lb ground pork
  • 1/2 cup finely minced onion
  • 2 tbsp light brown sugar
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp ground sage poulty seasoning iblend s a great substitution
  • 1 tbsp red hot pepper flakes
  • 1 tbsp kosher salt
  • 1 tsp fresh ground pepper
To serve
  • Toasted buns (buttered and topped with shredded cheese) - put under the broiler
  • avocado slices
  • eggs (runny yolks)
  • hot sauce optional

Method
 

  1. To make the sausage patties, combine all the ingredients in a bowl and mix. Don't overmix, just until combined.
  2. Form the sausage mixture into small patties ( this yeilds about 12)
  3. In a cast iron skillet or pan coated with oil, over medium heat, fry up your patties. A couple of minutes per side should do.
  4. Prep your toast, eggs and avocado
  5. On your toasty buns with cheese, pile in your egg, sausage pattie and avocado. Serve with hot sauce on the side.
